Baxter to consult Rainer over Itu

Baxter, though, says any decision on Khune's readiness for competitive action will be made in consultation with goalkeeper coach Rainer Dinkelacker.

"Itu has been doing well at training. It is possible that he is ready to play now," Baxter is quoted as saying by the PSL.

"I will speak to the goalkeeper coach before making a decision."

Khune started eight games earlier in the season and kept a remarkable seven clean sheets before an ankle problem derailed his progress in September.

The 27-year-old last skippered the Glamour Boys on 30 August in a 2-0 League win over SuperSport United.

Brilliant Khuzwayo later impressed in Khune's absence, setting up a tussle for the number one jersey at Naturena.

Amakhosi, who enjoy a 15-point lead at the summit, will resume their charge for Absa Premiership honours against mid-table Bloemfontein Celtic at Free State Stadium on Wednesday night (kick-off: 19h30).
