Baxter cautious with Bukenya

Bukenya penned a two-year deal with the Premiership champions on Monday following a lengthy trial at Naturena.

"This is part of the process of refreshing the team," Baxter told Chiefs' official website.

"Ivan is tall and very strong plus he has age on his side. We are strong at the back and we looked at him as one for the future and also giving us options tactically.

"He understands his role in the team as we have described it to him. He is willing to adapt and to take it one step at the time. I am excited to have him as part of the squad."

The former Bafana Bafana boss added: "I will not rush him until we are satisfied that he has adapted to our system as well as the culture in and around the club.

"As I said before he arrived I heard good things about him and had an opportunity to look at him in the past month to analyse him and I am satisfied with what I have seen so far."
