While there are strong indications Baxter is likely to extend his stay at Amakosi, the former Bafana Bafana coach is yet to put pen to paper.
But with Baxter having led the club to a Cup and League double last season, Chiefs will be eager to hang onto his services as they look to mount a strong 2014 African Champions League campaign.
Although the issue of Baxter’s contract came under the spotlight during the beginning of the season, there are no indications from the club as to when exactly the coach is likely to sign a new deal.
Infact, Kaizer Chiefs Corporate Communications manager – Vina Maphosa – revealed to KickOff.com that the subject did not even come under discussion on Tuesday during a meeting of the club’s officials.
“There are no updates to talk about regarding that issue [Baxter contract talks]. This was not discussed,” Maphosa tells KickOff.com.
“We will issue out a statement when there are any new developments on the issue,” Maphosa said.
