SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo was not happy with dropping points against AmaZulu at King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday night.
Matsatsantsa went into the game as favourites after coming from an impressive win against their neighbours Mamelodi Sundowns. After their 2-0 defeat at the hands of Usuthu, Tembo was left disappointed.
"It's a very difficult loss because we want to finish as high as we can. Dropping points tonight is a setback for our ambitions as a club, especially at this stage of the season," he admitted.
"We wanted to increase the gap to those behind us and close the gap to some of those above us. We just need to be positive"
About their performance this season, Tembo feels they should have done better as they started very well but faced challenges in the middle of the campaign.
"We've done well, although with my ambitions we could've done better. There are games we were supposed to win and avoid drawing in others. We've never been out of the top eight and also had challenges with losing players due to injuries, the likes of Bradley Grobler and Dean Furman," he explained.
SuperSport United face Bidvest Wits on Saturday and Tembo says their focus is to make sure they finish strongly.
"Our focus is the next game and we are playing at home, we need to get three points."
