Ex-Pirates star moves to North Africa

Zambia international striker Justin Shonga has completed a move to North Africa after four years in the DStv Premiership.

Shonga has been a free agent since being released from Cape Town City six months into his three and a half year contract where he struggled to find the form that made him one of the most sought after talents in Africa.

During his time with Nkwazi and Orlando Pirates, the 24-year-old was subject of interest from Zamalek SC but his career has taken a significant dip after failed stints at Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila and the Citizens.

But his reputation still managed to attract the interest of Algerian giants JS Kabiyle and Ismaily SC and he opted for the Egyptian Premier League outfit, signing a three-year contract.

KickOff.com revealed last week that Shonga left for Egypt on Wednesday following their official contract offer and he'll now be aiming to revitalise his once-promising career up North.

Shonga scored 16 goals and registered 16 assists in 77 games during his three-year stint at Pirates before his surprise release to TTM.

He'll partner up another former PSL player in the form of Nambia international and former Platinum Stars forward Benson Shilongo at the club.
