Maduka in pending money issues with Royal AM

Premiership can reveal that John Maduka still has outstanding money-related matters with his former employer Royal AM almost a month since he resigned.

Maduka handed in his resignation at Royal AM last month after a season in charge impressively taking the club to a third-place finish and qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.

The former Malawi international moved across as head coach from Bloemfontein Celtic when the Free State club was bought and relocated.

He has now taken over from Ernst Middendorp at Maritzburg United.

Former Kaizer Chiefs left-back Ditheko ‘Tiger’ Mototo also moved across joining as his assistant.

This website has been informed that Maduka has still not been paid what was due to him for the month of June - an amount known to this website.

Word is that he has also not received the bonus that he was promised for securing CAF club competition.

Strangely, Mototo has been paid his dues for the month of June adding weight to the fact that Maduka is being victimised by ‘certain influences’ within the club that he was not popular with throughout his time at the club.

The matter is being handled by Maduka’s legal team who are engaging the flamboyant club's representatives.

Maduka appeared set to be fired at the beginning of last season after losing the first two games of the season but was saved by the fact that he then went for eight games without defeat eventually going on to finish third.

He also guided the team to the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup losing to eventual winners Mamelodi Sundowns.

Royal AM have since brought back Khabo Zondo as their new head coach.

Zondo was last active six years ago and is familiar with the club’s operations.
