Jimenez, who has netted four goals in 26 outings for Mexico, has struggled for game-time since his €11 million signing from Club América in August.
"It's not easy trying to match the likes of Diego Forlan, Diego Costa and Radamel Falcao," the 23-year-old told AS.
"They are all great players who played their role in the team and delivered the goods when they came here.
"Even so, I have to make my own history and do what I came here to do - which is score goals.
"I'm learning new things every day and that's crucial as you always need to take advice from the best to keep growing as a player.
"There are things I need to improve upon and I know that's not easy because there are a lot of other players who want the same."
