‘Senzo put Pirates on the map’

The Bafana Bafana captain was gunned down last night, leading to the postponement of this weekend’s Soweto Derby against Kaizer Chiefs.

An emotional Khoza said the Buccaneers would forever me indebted to Meyiwa.

“Senzo has been here since he was 13 years old. And he has written his legacy in this club. He put us on the map around the world,” Khoza said.

“Orlando Pirates is now known continentally and around the world because of his heroics leading up to the CAF Final.

“He was a national and club captain. It was only natural that there would have been some tears this morning. I encouraged it.”

Khoza also revealed that a number of Chiefs players made their way to the hospital last night.

"Last night at the hospital, there were many players from Kaizer Chiefs which shows you the magnitude of what happened.”
