Mido's delight for Soweto rivals

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder George Maluleka has explained why he is delighted for  Swallows FC ahead of their top-of-the-table clash today.

Sundowns are set to host second-place Swallows in a crucial DStv Premiership encounter at Lucas Moripe Stadium this afternoon (15h00).

The high-flying Dube Birds have matched The Brazilians pound-for-pound in the league race thus far, with both having won seven, drawn five and lost none of their opening 12 matches.

Maluleka has thus acknowledged the magnitude of the fixture, but took a moment to reflect on the awe-inspiring journey the club has undertaken in recent years.

"It is a big game indeed, I think. They’ve been doing very well and I’m really happy for them, especially [considering] where they came from and what the club has been through," 'Mido' told Sundowns' website.

"This club is very big and has a history in our country, so I’m very excited about playing against them.

"It’s going to be very difficult obviously, because they’ve had a very good start to the season and they’re maintaining their performance every week.

"We also need to be vigilant but I’m pretty sure they’re just as curious about us since we’ve been having a good run as well."
