Though Amakhosi have kept the core of last season’s team, an array of new signings are expected to bring a new dimension to the team’s play, according to Lebese.
Steve Komphela is believed to be cooking up something special ahead of his second season in the Naturena hot-seat, after the Bafana Bafana winger hinted at the team’s plan to “surprise” their opponents with “a new style.”
“The new players have come in very well, they’ve worked very hard and we got to introduce them to our style of play, which is also new to us,” revealed Lebese.
“We’re looking to play in a certain way that is going to be exciting and help to win games for us. At the moment we’re about 80 percent settled, and on Saturday we’ll see how far we’ve come.
“But I think we’ve touched up on everything, and we’re ready for the start of the new season.”
The 27-year-old attacker adds that he is looking forward to the start of the 2016/17 campaign in order to implement their new style of play, which will “help to win more games than last season”.
“It’s still the same old team with the same coach, and it’s just different tactics and a different approach so we’re looking forward to winning more games than we did last season,” he added.
“Obviously, it’s a secret for now but we’ve changed quite a lot. The way we want to play and certain tactics have changed from last season, and we just want to surprise our opponents.”
Lebese has also targeted victory in Saturday’s Carling Black Label Cup in order to bring some confidence to the team as well as the supporters ahead of the official start to the PSL season.
“It’s a very important game because at the end of the day we’re playing our biggest rivals, so we’re looking to start the season on a good note and to get a trophy so early in the season will get our supporters behind us,” he concluded.
