Hunt reveals stance on Ntshangase

Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has outlined his stance with regards to the absence of fan-favourite midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase.

Ntshangase has managed just two starts this season, since having his Chiefs contract extended until the end of the 2020/21 season.

The 27-year-old attacker arrived under much fanfare three years ago from Baroka but has struggled to live up to the expectations at Naturena.

With less than 40 appearances and just two goals under his belt across all competitions for Amakhosi, 'Stash' has failed to command a regular place in the team under three of the club's last four coaches.

Questioned on why the player has not enjoyed much game-time, Hunt that his selections are based mostly on quality and cohesion in training, with everyone having gotten an opportunity to impress so far.

"Everybody's working hard at training. I can only pick what I see, and everybody needs to keep working hard – the ones that are in and the ones that are out, and hopefully force the hand," Hunt told reporters during his pre-Soweto Derby press conference this week.

"Everybody, since I've been here, has been given a chance, him [Ntshangase] included. So, we've got to try and pick the best 11 that suit each other.

"But everybody's been given a chance, if you look at the team sheets since I've been here."
