Hunt: I need patience with my players

Premiership

Hunt was speaking after his side defeated Ajax Cape Town 1-0 at Bidvest Stadium last night – a win that moved them up to fourth place.

Despite that, the coach says his team still has a lot of work to do.

“I don’t think we played anywhere near our potential,” Hunt says. “We were second to the ball, even though we had some great chances, but we were second to the ball in all departments.

“All the basics of the game I don’t think we did well. We didn’t win enough headers, we didn’t win enough tackles. We created a few opportunities yes, but our final ball was not good.”

Hunt adds: “I won't look at the log standing now … it’s still early days. I need to be patient with the team and the players. I'm new, they are new, but the mindset is good, the attitude is good and that's important.”
