Letuka, 25, has made six starts this campaign since passing a trial with Stars in the off-season.
And he hopes Mashaba, who has selected little-known players like Dumisani Msibi and Fagrie Lakay in his latest squad, is taking note of his efforts.
Letuka told his club's website: "I’m not really far off (getting a Bafana call-up). I just need to play a little bit more.
“The team also has to show some progress and it will then be a matter of time before someone notices."
Meanwhile, Letuka believes Ea Lla Koto can improve on their sixth-placed standing on the table following seven rounds of fixtures.
"Soccer is all about combinations," said Letuka.
"We had a new-look team and a new coach [Tom Saintfiet], so it took some time for us to understand what he wanted from us.
"We can achieve a little more with the quality that we have in squad. We can certainly do more."
