Eymael apologises for 'disastrous' derby

Ea Lla Koto got a 3-0 drubbing at Dr Molemela Stadium on Sunday as they dropped to 10th place on the Absa Premiership table with 16 points from 13 games.

"I'm not well at all. It was very shameful my man, shameful... to play like that in a derby? It's shameful," Eymael tells KickOff.com.

"I don't understand, it was a complete disaster but we have to try to forget and work and focus because working after something like this is always difficult. But we have to try to get results in the next two games because now it's the fourth time that we had an opportunity to be in top four and we missed it four times. It's fine for one time we can understand and two times we can understand... but four times you cannot understand.

"I'm very disappointed for all the fans of Free State Stars. I want to apologise in place of my players for this absolutely poor performance dished out yesterday. It's the worse thing I have seen until now. You cannot work like this in training and deliver like that in match day. As staff we work hard, doing all the homework, analysis, giving them all the information, but the result is very disappointing."

The Belgian singled out club captain Paulus Masehe and goalkeeper Badra Ali Sangare as the only players that can hold their heads high.

"Everybody failed, everything failed yesterday. Just two players were at their level best yesterday, my goalkeeper and my captain. If they were not there I don't know how much we would have got yesterday. These two were very good but the other players completely switched off and I don't understand why. It was a complete disaster, they didn't come to the party. It's a shame."

The former Polokwane City boss hopes his charges can end 2017 strongly with results against SuperSport United [on Wednesday] and Orlando Pirates [Saturday] on home soil and break into the top eight.

"I will always try my best to be in that position because we had already planned for that, but we'll see what we can do. It's true that I would like to be in top eight but to be always going up and down the log table, it's disappointing you know. You draw one game, you lose one game, you win... I don't understand. It has never happened to me in my career. But let's try to focus in the last two games. We have to recover for our next games SuperSport United and Pirates. It's very disappointing."
