Cavin keen on return

During the 2012/13 season, Johnson led Platinum Stars to a second-place finish before he was poached by SuperSport.

However, things didn’t go according to plan at Matsatsantsa as he was shown the door just one year into his contract.

“Yes, I’m ready to come back,” Johnson tells KickOff.com.

“In fact, I’ve been receiving offers but nothing concrete yet. A lot of people have been talking about AmaZulu but no one has spoken to me from there. So far I’m busy studying the game and seeing where our football is going because when you look at things from outside they are always different.”

After being sacked from United, Johnson was replaced by former Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund.

“I learned a lot from working for both Platinum Stars and SuperSport United,” Johnson adds.

“At Platinum Stars we had great facilities and it’s a dream come true for any coach to work under those conditions. But the difficulty is obviously holding on to the players that the team was producing.

“A club like SuperSport has more financial muscle and can buy and hold on to their players. But I learned a lot from both clubs.”
