Former striker questions Makgopa's Pirates move

Former Orlando Pirates player Andries Sebola has questioned his former club's move for Baroka FC striker Evidence Makgopa.

Sebola has raised concerns that the lanky forward may not be the immediate answer for the Buccaneers next season.

"I can say it's a bad move, especially for him," Sebola tells KickOff.

"He should start at a smaller team than Pirates. It might be that Makgopa might be desperate to remain in the top-flight after Baroka were relegated.

"But let's give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he will perform at Pirates.

"Maybe the boy will do well for Pirates and it will be a boost for his career.

"But for Makgopa I think personally it's a wrong move as he has to establish himself somewhere first.

"He might be playing for Bafana Bafana, like Hugo Broos said the boy will need to move to keep his place in the squad, but it should be a smaller team.

"Yes let's give him a benefit of the doubt but playing for Pirates is not a child's play.

"You need a big heart there, there are big challenges you will face."
