Five big transfers possible before Friday

With two days left before the January transfer window closes, looks at the biggest potential transfers that could happen at the last minute.

It is no secret that the current transfer period has been less active, with only a few high-profile moves so far such as defender Justice Chabalala moving from Orlando Pirates to Bloemfontein Celtic.

Many local football are waiting in anticipation to see which teams might pull a big rabbit out of the hat on Friday. Here are the top five.

Bradley Grobler

The rumours about Grobler leaving SuperSport United have resurfaced again. The player himself has come out to say he is happy to stay at United but cannot rule out a move to one of big clubs in the PSL. Mamelodi Sundowns and Pirates are the two local teams that could pounce for his services.

Thembinkosi Lorch

Lorch is yet to pick up his form since the rumours linking him with an overseas move surfaced at the beginning of the season. Pirates official Floyd Mbele has come out to assure the Bucs faithful that jersey number three will remain at Parktown this season, but a move overseas or to Sundowns cannot be ruled out.

Justin Shonga

The Zambian striker has not seen much action this season and off-field problems seem to have not made the situation better for his stay at Pirates. A loan deal could help him get some game-time.

Aubrey Ngoma

Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has shown a little bit of faith in Ngoma this season when it looked like he was more likely to leave. However, there is no secret that the former Cape Town City midfielder's stay at Chloorkop has not been rosy.

Richard Ofori

The big Ghanaian international is reported to have attracted interest from both Sundowns and Pirates. With a lot of injuries and age becoming a factor with Denis Onyango, it wouldn't be a surprise if The Brazilians pulled off one of biggest transfers this week, or more likely at the end of the season.
