Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Themba Zwane is finally where he wants to be - amongst the best in the PSL.
Zwane has been nominated for the award together with his teammate Hlompho Kekana and Orlando Pirates midfielder Thembinkosi Lorch for the big individual prize.
All three players have also been nominated for the Absa Premiership Player's Player and Midfielder of the Season awards. The winners will be announced at the PSL Awards in Durban on Sunday.
Speaking during his club’s trophy parade in Tshwane on Tuesday, Zwane expressed his excitement about being one of the nominees for the big awards.
The enterprising midfielder has previously stated that he would like to be recognised when it comes to the individual awards and he has finally achieved that, following a season in which he helped Sundowns retain the league title for the first time under the guidance of Pitso Mosimane.
"It makes me very happy. I always wanted to see myself there and now it’s happening. It shows that there is good a job that I am doing throughout the season and so I'm happy for myself,” the 29-year-old said.
"I would also like to thank my teammates. I was not going to do it alone. They are always there for me,” he added.
