Fanteni, who recently had unsuccessful trials at AmaZulu and Bloemfontein Celtic, is a free agent after parting ways with the Clever Boys in August.

Chippa CEO Peter Koutroulis confirmed Fanteni is training with the club, but indicated the ex-South Africa international is not chasing a contract with the Chilli Boys.

"He is Cape Town boy and we only invited him to keep himself fit and busy," said Koutroulis.
