Ex-Chiefs defender not giving up

Tsotetsi has not played any football since the expiry of his short-term contract with Mpumalanga Black Aces in June last year.

“I have honestly been unlucky in as far as getting my career back moving,” Tsotetsi says.

“I last played in the PSL when Vasco da Gama was still up there [2010/11] and that season I played almost all the games.

“After they got relegated I had a few offers but nothing came of those offers until I joined Aces when they were still playing in the First Division [2011/12].

“Since the expiry of my contract with them I have been without a club, actually I didn’t play for any club last season and I think it is more about a lack of luck that I haven’t been able to get another club.”

Tsotetsi spent time at Jomo Cosmos, Kaizer Chiefs and Bloemfontein Celtic, and has one Bafana Bafana cap, but says he is stuggling to find any clubs interested in his services.

“I have tried and I am still trying to get in touch with clubs but then they always choose not to respond to me after I talk to them,” he says.

The 30-year-old is in the meantime back in the Vaal, where he is training with SAB League club The Birds.

“I am with them for the sake of keeping fit,” he explains. “I can still play and I won’t give up just yet because I believe I can still do a job.

“I know that right now it is easier for me to give up but I will not do that. I have tried to keep in shape though I haven’t had a club for a long time.”
