Tinkler disappointed with second half

This despite their 5-0 thumping of a 10-man Ezenkosi at the Orlando Stadium on Friday night, as they managed four goals in the first half.

The home side put on a finishing master-class in the first half as Ayanda Gcaba, Sifiso Myeni, Mpho Makola and Tendai Ndoro all converted their opportunities.

However, his side were able to add just one goal right at the death when Gift Motupa grabbed the final goal of the game in the 90th minute.

Tinkler expressed his happiness at the first half performance, but said he was disappointed at their failure to add more to the scoresheet after the break.

"I thought the first half performance was very, very good, and the chances we created we put in the back of the net," Tinkler toldĀ SuperSportĀ in his post-match interview.

"That was what was important and I explained that to the players ahead of the game, that if we played with a lot of width and if the quality of the delivery into the box ws good then we would score.

"Slightly disappointed in the second half, I thought we should have done a little bit better, but it was always going to be difficult to try and motivate them, knowing that they were 4-0 up at half-time."

The former Bucs assistant always expressed his happiness for Motupa, who he says had been low on confidence in recent matches.

"I'm also happy for Gift; he's had a bit of a rough time and the confidence has been a bit low," he added.

"He had a great chance, he missed and he dropped his head, but then he got another chance and stuck it away.

"Hopefully we'll now start seeing better thigs from him."
