Malesela was placed on what the club referred to as ‘special leave’ last Wednesday following a run of 10 league games without victory that sunk Chippa into the relegation mud.
Despite his struggles in the league, Malesela was still able to guide the club to the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup.
“A settlement agreement was prepared and sent to the club chairman and their legal representative on Thursday and if they sign then that is it. We should finalise this tomorrow because it is that straight forward. Dan is already back in Gauteng as we start thinking ahead for him,” explains Tim Sukazi, who represents Malesela.
Malesela leaves Chippa having been the club’s longest serving coach. He took over from Roger Sikhakhane in December 2015 and lasted 16 months in charge.
Assistant coach Mbuyiselo Sambu has since taken over in a caretaker capacity.
