Consumer coach Morena Mofokeng has described his delight in leading Kaizer Chiefs to victory in the Carling Black Label Cup over Orlando Pirates on Sunday as one of his best highlights in football.
Mofokeng was one of the fans who participated in the Carling Black Label competition after being selected as a coach in the pre-season fixture.
The Free State-born soccer fanatic emerged from the Orlando Stadium on Sunday with a gold medal wrapped on his neck after leading Chiefs to a 4-3 penalty-shootout win against the Buccaneers.
Mofokeng thanked everyone for their support during the occasion as a coach at Kaizer Chiefs and didn't forget his critics.
"I already had lost this game in the media, like on Twitter and Facebook. Everywhere I lost this game," Mofokeng said.
"People said this guy is young, doesn't look confident, this guy doesn't know his story. I accepted it. I accepted the loss, but I knew when I am going to meet the team, the scenario was going to change.
"I was told about the script. The script had been written. I didn't even see it.
"But today I am happy I won this medal. I am definitely happy.
"I would like to thank my parents and grandparents who took time to raise me, everyone who has been supporting me even you (media) for your own time," he added.
