Chippa respect PSL decision

The Chilli Boys were scheduled to play against Polokwane City on Saturday and when the PSL made the decision to postpone the matches, the squad was already in Johannesburg on their way to Polokwane. Now the team can only return to Port Elizabeth on Friday.

“Look, we respect the PSL’s decision to postpone the matches because considering the circumstances it wouldn’t make sense to play,” Chippa United CEO Peter Koutroulis tells

“In fact, we are the ones who wrote them a letter on Wednesday asking for our match to be postponed because some of our players are from KZN and they want to attend the funeral. The PSL got back to us and we were already in Joburg. But we don’t mind.”

Chippa’s next match is on Wednesday when they host Bidvest Wits.

“We will give players who want to attend the funeral a day off on Saturday and after that it’s back to work because we need to prepare for the match against Wits.”
