Chilli Boys promised big bonuses

The Chilli Boys welcome the Brazilians to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium at 19h30 in one of seven midweek PSL fixtures.
“I’m told the players have been promised big bonuses to beat Sundowns, apparently between R15 000 and R20 000, so it is extra motivation for all the players at the club. Players at Chippa normally get R10 000 for an away match and R5 000 for a home win, but this match is more important because Chippa may move up to even second on the log after tonight’s matches depending of course on other teams’ results,” a source reveals.
Chippa United players get more for an away win because of the difficulty of winning on the road and though tonight’s match is in their own backyard, the club’s spokesperson Lukhanyo Mzinzi says the club is treating it as an away match for bonus payments.
“There is a bonus structure at Chippa United, but we are not going to talk to you about the numbers. However, I can tell you that the chairman has said that this will be treated as an away match in terms of the bonus structure. The team is doing well and this is just motivation for the players,” Mzinzi concludes.
Chippa United are currently seventh on the log with 13 points from eight matches after three wins in a row, while Sundowns are fifth with 14 points from the same number of matches.
