Amakhosi are keen to retain Musona's services after he netted 16 goals in 25 starts on loan at Naturena last season.
However, Musona is believed to have attracted attention from abroad, with Hoffenheim yet to reveal their plans for the 24-year-old, who is under contract in Germany for another two years.
Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter told his club's website: “The situation with Musona is a special kind, as the club is waiting for the Germans to make the final decision on the matter. We have time frames and limits to the agreement with his team. Musona and Bernard Parker’s recovery progress from injury will affect the other transfer targets.
"We are watching the markets and have the names of our targets but that will all depend on the finalisation of Musona. The Musona issue has an effect on our foreign player quota. Most of what is making news currently is pure speculation.”
In other team news, Baxter has promoted Chris Matombo, Hendrick Ekstein and Zitha Macheke to the first team from their development ranks, while Philani Cele and Lucky Baloyi have joined Moroka Swallows on loan as part of the deal that brought in fullback Levy Mokgothu.
