Jampies, who has been without a permanent club since being released by Bloemfontein Celtic in November last year, is in serious negotiations with Ghanaian Premier League side Liberty Professionals.
"Yes, [the proposed move to Ghana] is true, although there's nothing concrete yet. What happened is that there's a friend of Jampies in Ghana, who used to play with him at Santos here in South Africa, he is the one who is organising the whole thing,” a source close to Jampies tells KickOff.com.
“He asked Jampies why he was not reading about him signing with any team, so Cheslyn told the guy the ABCs of what's happening [with his career].
"Then he told Jampies that they needed a player like him in their club and then he [Jampies] spoke to Liberty Professionals' coach. Apparently the coach knows Jampies and used to follow his progress. They are already busy with negotiations and they are doing it via conference calls.”
