The Bafana Bafana striker spent the second half of the 2013/14 season on loan at SuperSport United from Israeli club Maccabi Haifa, but scored only twice in 13 appearances.

Still, he did enough for SuperSport to want him back on a permanent basis, but Johnson says a deal is still a long way from being done.

“We still need to talk as a management regarding Dino,” Johnson tells KickOff.com. “We also need to speak to his club, so there is a long way to go before this issue can be resolved.

He adds: “We need to make plans for next season and set our targets; do we need to go the next season aiming for position five or do we go all the way for the League title? Everything we want to achieve next season needs to be outlined and we will do just that.”

SuperSport players will start their preseason training on Wednesday, June 18 and will kick off their League campaign away to Bidvest Wits and Free State Stars.
