Cape Town City have issued an important update on the future of defender Abbubaker Mobara.
Mobara joined City at the start of the 2019/20 season on a free transfer from Orlando Pirates, where he had spent three largely unsuccessful years after leaving Ajax Cape Town.
The 26-year-old had penned an initial two-year deal in 2019, with a two-year option that has now been triggred by the Cape-based outfit.
He will remain in the Mother City at least until June 2023, the club have confirmed.
Mobara managed one goal and one assist in 10 appearances across all competitions this campaign before suffering an injury against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila last month.
