The 31-year-old got the all-important goal as Pirates edged the Tunisians on the away-goal rule following a 1-1 draw, and in the process Mahamutsa helped his side progress to the CAF Champions League Final.
However, the Standerton-born defender insists everyone at Pirates deserves credit.
"It is not like I’m a hero for Pirates. It is all about team effort so Pirates is not a one-man team," Mahamutsa tells KickOff.com.
"Every time I play, I’m surrounded by 10 players and those on the bench, and on the stands, are busy encouraging me in the field of play. This is about teamwork."
Mahamutsa adds: “I’m just glad that we won ... it is all about hard work."
