Truter scoffs at 5-point gap to Downs

Swallows FC head coach has scoffed at the five-point gap that has now opened up between his side and leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

Despite being still unbeaten this season, Swallows seem to be losing their grip at the top of the table even though they still have a game in hand.

Truter says the current situation doesn't give him sleepless nights as winning the DStv Premiership this season was never a part of their immediate plans.

"Winning the league was never our intention so I'm not worried at all. There's still a whole second round to be played and lots can happen," Truter tells

The two-time PSL Coach of the Month feels he has done enough to keep the club in the top tier for next season.

"Yes, from 16 games [left] we need six points [to ensure survival]."

Swallows' next league clash is on Valentine's Day, 14 February, against AmaZulu at Dobsonville Stadium.
