Lakay: Celtic 'hyped up' for Chiefs

Celtic have struggled for momentum this season, winning once in four matches and most recently losing 2-0 to University of Pretoria at the weekend.

Lakay, though, is confident his side can raise their game against the Glamour Boys.

“It's very important for us to win tonight because we only got one point out of our two home games so far, and coming from a defeat on Saturday we have to win tonight,” Lakay says.

“For games against Chiefs you need no motivation and I believe the team is ready to take all three points at home tonight.

“The guys are hyped up and ready for tonight so I believe we are going to give Chiefs a tough time."

Meanwhile, Lakay has faith Phunya Sele Sele can defend their Telkom Knockout (TKO) title, having been drawn on Monday to face Mamelodi Sundowns in the opening round.

“It's a tough draw for us,” Lakay concedes.

“And as you know we lost to them in our first league game at home but I think we ready to defend our trophy and being at home I believe we will be up for it, starting from the game against Sundowns."

The TKO match dates and venues are yet to be announced.
