PSL club moves to tie down striker

With attackers seemingly among the most sought after positions in the January transfer window, a PSL club have moved to ward off any interest in one of their players.

Mamelodi Sundowns are known to be on the hunt for a top striker to help them defend their Absa Premiership title while also gunning for a second CAF Champions League crown.

But Bloemfontein Celtic have since ensured they do not lose forward Victor Letsoalo, whose initial contract was due to run out at the end of the this season.

Letsoalo joined Celtic in July 2017 from Baroka and has scored 11 goals over the past two-and-a-half seasons, with his current tally on three goals in 10 appearances.

Still just 26 years of age, Phunya Sele Sele have shown faith in the bustling forward by handing him a new three-year contract that will tie him down until 2023.

This follows the arrival of defender Justice Chabalala, who joined the club on loan from Orlando Pirates until the end of the 2019/20 campaign.

The Free State-based outfit have yet to make any other signings in the current window, while Shadrak Kobedi was loaned out to Glad Africa Championship side TS Sporting.
