Leopards: Dax ban 'nothing to do with us'

Black Leopards have responded to the four-month FIFA suspension of Andriamirado Andrianarimanana that has also seen Kaizer Chiefs slapped with a transfer ban.

The Madagascar star has been banned for four months following his move from Fosa Juniors to former club Kaizer Chiefs.

According to FIFA, Amakhosi will not be allowed to register any local or international players in the next two transfer windows following their failure to pay Fosa for the services of 'Dax', who now represents Lidoda Duvha.

The Soweto giants have been given 21 days to appeal the sentence, which they have indicated they will do before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Asked what the future holds for the player now that he has been banned for the remainder of the season, Leopards general manager Tshifiwa 'Chief' Thidiela said the club was still waiting to be officially informed by the PSL or SAFA.

"You will have to speak to him or to Chiefs," Thidiela tells KickOff.com.

"It's his and Chiefs' case, it's got nothing to do with us. They still have things that they can go and appeal... I don't think we are involved anywhere now.

"That's all the things that are there. We can't go and comment on those things. We don't even know where did it all start and where it's going, so when the time comes that's when we will be involved or see the impact.

"I mean this thing just came out, how do we know what is what? We need to get the documents so we know what is happening. Generally it's from FIFA [the documents] but to go to FIFA we go through the PSL and SAFA."

Dax has made 11 appearances for the Limpopo side in all competitions this season and registered one assist.

Asked to comment, Chiefs communications manager Vina Maphosa referred this website to the club's brief official statement, which has been published.
