'We can't let the boy die on the pitch'

Leopards suffered their third loss since returning to topflight football, taking a 4-0 beating at the hands of a ruthless SuperSport.

Lidoda Duvha are bottom of the Absa Premiership table, with just five points from their first six matches.

One of the reasons for the loss, according to Masutha, is that a few of his players were not well on match day.

“The boy [Tumelo Khutlang] was complaining even before the match. I think we had about four players complaining about abdominal pains and a runny stomach,” said Masutha.

“When we substituted him we felt he had no more energy to carry on and we can't let the boy die on the pitch. We felt we needed to take him out and bring in someone else,” he added.

Leopards are next set to host Baroka FC in the Limpopo derby at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on October 3.
