The Students have ruled out an imminent move for the 21-year-old as they have exhausted their foreign quota for the season.
Kangwa, who was a member of Chipolopolo's 2012 Afcon-winning squad, is currently on the books of Zambian Super League title favourites Nkana FC.
"He (Kangwa) is here for the week but will not be signed as we already have five foreign players registered," says Wits general manager George Mogotsi
"He comes highly recommended. So our coach, being as open as he is, then invited him over so that he can assess him with a view of probably taking him in future if he is what the coach feels he needs for the future."
Kangwa recently went on lengthy trial with Spanish second tier side Recreativo Huelva but a transfer fee could not be agreed upon.
He was top scorer at the Cosafa Under-20 Youth Championship two years ago, and was also once on the radar of Orlando Pirates.
