Chawaphiwa is having a great first season in the PSL, having joined Bakgaga from Zimbabwean side FC Platinum.
Since arriving in the PSL, the 25-year-old has made 22 appearances in all competitions, proving to be one of the signings of the season in the PSL. He is a real threat on the wing, especially when he takes players head on with his skills.
“The PSL is tough. It’s different compared to other leagues. The pace is fast and the coaches are more tactical. It’s a good league. Even back home they know that the South African league is better than the Zimbabwean league. It’s the best in Africa,” said Chawapiwa, who has received high praise from South African football supporters in his debut campaign.
“It makes me feel great because it means that I am doing a great job as a player and it means that I am improving.
“All the credit I give to the technical team because they have worked hard. They help me improve everyday and they give me freedom to do whatever I want to do. They are always there for me.”
The Zimbabwean international admits he is not happy with his contribution is front of goal. He has scored just one goal this season and feels he should be doing more to find the back of the net, especially as a winger.
“I am a bit disappointed with myself in terms of scoring. I will work on improving,” he said.
