Bafana move up in Fifa rankings


South Africa’s senior football team - who recently lost sponsors PUMA and Absa - now share their new position with Libya, who climbed nine places.

Bafana are still ranked 12th in Africa, as they were last month.

World and European champions Spain hold on to number one spot globally, ahead of Germany, Argentina, Colombia and Belgium.

The 2014 World Cup hosts Brazil have dropped three places to 11th.

World top 10: Spain, Germany, Argentina, Colombia, Belgium, Uruguay, Switzerland, Netherlands, Italy, England.

Africa top 10: Ivory Coast [world ranking: 17], Ghana [23], Algeria [32], Nigeria [33], Mali [41], Cape Verde Islands [42], Tunisia [47], Egypt [51], Burkina Faso [52], Cameroon [59].
