The spoils were split at Moses Mabhida Stadium, as Bevan Fransman's 29th minute own goal erased United attacker Thuso Phala's eighth minute opener in Durban.
Matsatsantsa, Mamelodi Sundowns, Moroka Swallows, Usuthu and champions Kaizer Chiefs are all on 11 points, with Cavin Jonson's men narrowly ahead on goal difference, although Tshwane rivals Downs boast a game in hand.
“What can I say? The boys didn’t finish and our final pass throughout the game wasn’t sharp enough,” Rosslee told his club's official website. “We created a lot of chances; we dominated the game.
“I thought we had a chunk of the possession and we played some fantastic football around the park but we weren’t aggressive enough.
“We had them on the ropes, in the corner, and we needed to put them down and bury them, but we didn’t do that.
“We did well to come back but once we came back we should have buried them.”
