AmaZulu beset by lengthy injuries

Usuthu had been preparing to welcome former coach Clive Barker's Mpumalanga Black Aces to Princess Magogo Stadium this weekend before the PSL postponed all matches in honour of the late Senzo Meyiwa.

"I have a lot of injuries; Marc [van Heerden] is out [with a knee meniscus injury), Ayanda [Dlamini] is out [knee] and John Arwuah is also out," said the former Zimbabwe international.

"Larry [Horeab], he suffered an injury against Chippa United while Philani Shange [knee] is doubtful and he will go through a fitness test tomorrow and we will see what happens.

"With Larry, Marc, Ayanda and John, these are long-term injuries and I think some will come back [only] after January," he added.

Meanwhile, former Moroka Swallows midfielder Nkosinathi Ogle is on trial at the club as Mugeyi looks to strengthen his squad.

The player was seen today at the Moses Mabhida outer field and Usuthu team manager Japhet Zwane said the player has been called in to plug the gaps in attack and also go forward.

"Yes, he is here and he just started recently," Zwane confirmed.

"It's not up to me and it will be up to him to show that he has what it takes for the club to sign him," he added.

Ogle was on the books of Swallows last season but failed to extend his contract with the Dube Birds due to financial issues.

The 29-year-old was also previously at AmaZulu before joining Golden Arrows in 2012/13 and was a junior product of Orlando Pirates. He has also played for University of Pretoria and Mpumalanga Black Aces.
