Margeman targets Downs domination

Margeman, who is enjoying his breakout season in the PSL, recently returned from a two-match suspension to help the Urban Warriors record a 1-1 draw with Golden Arrows.

And the 18-year-old is eager to test his mettle against the star-studded African champions in Tshwane.

“We should take the game to them and try and unsettle them very early on, you know,” Margeman tells “My aim is to try and dictate things from the midfield. I want to stamp my authority early on in the game.

“The team needs points and I’m more than ready to help achieve our objectives. It’s not going to easy to beat Sundowns in the backyard but we must believe in our ability and give it a go.”

The Amajita ace recently received rich praise from Ajax coach Stanley Menzo, who said his 10th-placed side play better with the teenager in midfield.

“This is amazing to hear,” says Margeman. “It’s nice to know that the coach believes in me. I will try my best not to disappoint him or the team. To be honest I’m still learning as well. I’m aware that I need to work hard and to remain humble and also to take in whatever I’m told on training.”

Kick-off is at 19h30.
