Jaakkola and Krjauklis wait on Home Affairs

Premiership

Coach Muhsin Ertugral said on Wednesday he was hopeful of having the pair available for the match, but accepted it was up to Home Affairs as to whether the documentation would arrive in time.

Ajax PRO Shooz Muketo told KickOff.com that as of mid-day Friday, they had received nothing and as such it was unlikely that the players would feature.

Finnish international goalkeeper Jaakkola is seen as an important signing for Ajax, who juggled the position between Sean Roberts and the now-retired Sander Westerveld last season.

The 26-year-old Jaakkola, who was most recently with Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock, played previously at Italian Serie A side Siena and Czech outfit Slavia Prague.

Latvian international Krjauklis was with Lamontonville Golden Arrows last term, making 17 appearances for Abafana Bes’thende before leaving at the end of the campaign.

Ajax have just a single point from their two Premiership matches this season, a 1-1 draw at Golden Arrows and a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of AmaZulu.

Speaking of a race against time, have you remembered to make your team changes for the KICK OFF Fantasy League?

Don't forget to update your starting XI before 18h00 on Friday!
