Ajax targeting first six-pointer

The duo met in just the third game of the PSL season in August, with the Urban Warriors securing a 2-1 victory in Limpopo thanks to goals from Thabiso Nkoana and Tashreeq Morris.

Rise and Shine have since enjoyed an impressive run, winning the Quarter Two Absa Premiership Q-Innovation prize in December as they climbed to joint-fifth in the log standings, level on points with Ajax.

And Roger De Sa knows his charges will face a difficult encounter against Kosta Papic’s men.

“They [Polokwane] play the type of football that will be difficult for us to play against – they run a lot, they compete and play very narrow,” the Urban Warriors coach told reporters.

“They’ve had some fantastic results, winning three of their last five matches. They are the type of team that will throw everything at you, so we have to be ready for that.”

Yet having emerged victorious over their opponents once already this season, De Sa hopes to repeat the feat and earn his side’s first double of the campaign.

“We beat them in the first round and it’ll be good to get a nice six points from them, which we haven’t done very much in the past against teams,” he said.

“So hopefully this will be our first six-pointer.”

Kick-off on Wednesday evening is scheduled for 19:30.
