Amrouche sends message to Hunt


Algerian coach Adel Amrouche has sent Gavin Hunt a message after his appointment as Kaizer Chiefs head coach.

Hunt was confirmed as the successor to Ernst Middendorp eight days after his official sacking at Naturena as he beat the Botswana national team boss to the job.

The experienced tactician confirmed to this website that Chiefs had made contact with him but never offered an official response as he intended to visit the club upon his return to Africa from Belgium.

With Amakhosi moving swiftly to hire their number-one target and four-time league winner, Amrouche sent a classy message to congratulate the former Bidvest Wits boss.

"Congratulations to Gavin Hunt for being appointed as Kaizer Chiefs' new head coach," he tweeted. "Well deserved for the four-time league winner. Good luck at Naturena."

Hunt will officially begin his new role at The Village on Monday for his first training session with the Glamour Boys first-team while his technical team is set to be announced in the coming days.
