SuperSport United returned to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Chippa United in an Absa Premiership clash on Friday evening.
SuperSport gave a debut to Ugandan Moses Waiswa while Siyabonga Nhlapo replaced Grant Kakana after an injury in the warm-up.
Matsatsantsa had a perfect chance to go ahead inside ten minutes when a cut-back from Luke Fleurs found Gabuza, who saw his snap effort parried by Veli Mothwa.
Chippa grew in leaps and bounds thereafter and amidst a few scares, the better chances went to SuperSport with Waiswa closing-in with a threatening free-kick on the area after 28 minutes.
Ten minutes later, the teferee showed no hesitation to award the hosts a penalty after Sandile Mthethwa handled Ghampani Lungu’s shot, leaving Bradley Grobler to tuck home for the game's opening goal.
Chippa’s first big chance forced SuperSport shot-stopper Ronwen Williams to a finger-tip save off a pin-point header from Augustine Kwem following a cross from William Twala shortly after the break.
Thamsanqa Gabuza, returning to the line-up, should’ve given SuperSport a second nine minutes later but he headed straight at Mothwa following Lungu’s delivery.
Gabuza instead turned provider to Grobler on 64 minutes with a ball across the area which the latter received before wrong-footing Mothwa with a low finish to the near cornert to complete his brace.
Fleurs then beat Mothwa to a looping ball in the area following 74 minutes to head home SuperSport's third and his first top flight goal.
Fleurs then gave away a penalty in added time after handling in the area, but the Chilli Boys failed to profit as Williams denied Boikanyo Komane to give Matsatsantsa an impressive victory.
