Kaitano Tembo’s charges were dominating early on and were on top of the opposition box in the first quarter of the half.

In the 27th minute, Tembo was forced to make a substitution as goalscorer Mnyamane could not continue with the match and was replaced by Kingston Nkhatha.

The Tshwane giants were awarded a penalty in the 34th minute with Dean Furman taking the responsibility but he missed from 12-yards out.

Teboho Mokoena almost doubled the visitors’ lead six minutes before halftime but his shot was smothered by Akpeyi.

Matsatsantsa were on top of the game in closing stages of the first stanza and took the 1-0 lead into the break.

Mokoena almost doubled the visitors’ lead 10 minutes into the second stanza with a toke-poke inside the box that went agonisingly wide.

Nkhatha also had a chance for Matsatsantsa in the 67th minute with a header inside the box but his flicked effort was saved by Akpeyi.

Vladislav Heric’s charges pressurised Matsatsantsa with 10 minutes to go while the visitors were packing men at the back.

With one minute remaining, Thabo Rakhale found the equaliser three minutes before time to salvage a draw for the hosts.
