Damons found himself without a job in Gqeberha after the club placed head coach Gavin Hunt on suspension.

The former Dube Birds goal minder has joined the likes of Pitso Mosimane and Morena Ramoreboli to work as coaches outside the borders of South Africa.

Mosimane is currently in charge of Al Ahly, while Ramoreboli is enjoying success in Botswana with Jwaneng Galaxy.

The trio will now continue to raise the South African flag in continental football after qualifying for the CAF competitions group stages this season.
