Roger de Sa has confirmed talks are underway for a sensational return to the Egyptian national team as part of Carlos Queiroz's technical team.

The duo were relieved of their duties with the Pharaohs just three months prior after failing to qualify for the 2022 World Cup, but now seem odds on to make a dramatic return.

"They are asking if I can come back, it [formal talks] have started last week already," De Sa tells KickOff.

"I said to them to put an offer on the table and then we'll see.

"I'm still going to be the coach of the first team for the national team, that's if I take the offer.

"Carlos is the head of football, I'm the coach of the national team that's it.

"Then there's also a coach of the under-17, under-20, under-23, that's how it works over there.

"But at this stage, I don't know if I will go, I will just wait and see if I would go.

"I think by end of next week we will have a final decision.

"So, I have always had that position of being a coach of the Egyptian national team, it's just that because Carlos he is the head of football he does that role.

"He is the one that you see all the time, that's how it works over there."
