South Africa beat Congo 2-0 in Pointe Noire last Saturday to go top of the Group A standings and a win on Wednesday will ensure Bafana qualifies for Morocco next year.

Erasmus was speaking to the media after their training session in Polokwane on Monday and he says as strikers, they need to shoot at the Congolese keeper, Chansel Massa.

“The mood is great in the team, we’re working on things that we can improve and coming from Congo back to the country, it gives us an advantage but we can’t be complacent,” said Erasmus.

“We aim to continue to build up from our performance in Congo to try and get a result on Wednesday,” added the Port Elizabeth-born player.

Coach Shakes Mashaba was quoted after the game saying that his strikers were not shooting from long range, and Erasmus says they aim to do that more on Wednesday.

“We picked that up, especially the guys on the bench, as you saw in the second half the two shots we took gave us the goals we scored.

“If we took more shots, we could have scored three goals but as the coach said their keeper is not good, we observed that.

“I think in the next game we’ll do that more, to use the chances we get,” concluded the Orlando Pirates forward.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 20h05 at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday.
