Klate says Pirates ‘are up for it’

The Buccaneers face a daunting task at a venue where the hosts have lost just three times in 60 matches in this competition, but know that a scoring draw will be enough to see them through.

Klate, one of Pirates’ stalwarts during the 2013 campaign, says he and his teammates will draw on wins against other African giants like Al-Ahly to see them over the latest hurdle.

“We are up for it,” the winger is quoted in the Sowetan. “We have defied the odds in this tournament, and when you beat teams like Al-Ahly and hopefully Esperance, things can only get better for you.”

He adds: “It is every player's dream to be involved in a game like this. The game on Saturday is going to be extremely difficult for us, but we have drawn inspiration from the first leg against Esperance.”
